Although the official date remains a deliberate mystery, Faygo and his team have prepared a lot for next month’s LP.
Faygo’s first production of the year came in June and July, when he ushered in his Pink era with two separate projects, demonstrating the high-quality music he’s been creating during his hiatus. To prepare her fans for the upcoming studio album, she released not only the 5-track teaser tape B4PINK (June 14), but also a secret SoundCloud project titled BABYJACK a month later, neither of which included a single feature. With the release of these two projects, fans became even more convinced that Pink Heartz would be a defining moment for the young Atlanta emcee.
Prior to these releases, Faygo shared a few photos on his Instagram Story in May, one of which simply had the caption “100% Album”. She also shared a notepad with more potential song titles written on it. Although she has already hinted at major roles for stars like Lil Uzi Vert, Gunna, Yeat, Ken Carson, The Kid LAROI and others in the project, the official track list and release date have yet to be announced.
Travis Scott, the boss of Faygo’s Cactus Jack, appears to be on the list of possible guests on the album. On April 29, photos of the two working in the studio surfaced, implying that they were preparing collaborative music for one of them to release.
SoFaygo spoke after a show on April 26 about how monumental the album is and how much fans will enjoy it.
“The album will be released soon… ‘Pink Heartz’ will be released soon.” We’ve been working on it for a long time, and I’m not going to lie: it’s a masterpiece. You won’t be able to stop listening to that sh*t.”
Pink Heartz has been the long-awaited next step in Faygo’s career as he seeks to certify the mainstream appeal he flirted with on viral hits like “Knock Knock” and “Everyday.” In a March interview, SoFaygo gave a brief but powerful description of what Pink Heartz means not only to him, but also to his growing fan base.
“Pink Heartz is the future, Pink Heartz is youth, Pink Heartz is young black music.”
With only a few weeks until October, SoFaygo’s next masterpiece will undoubtedly be one of the best hip-hop albums of the month, if not the best.
