A new song titled “Two” by the late American rapper, singer and songwriter Jarad Anthony Higgins, known professionally as Juice WRLD, has been leaked.

Juice WRLD was a leading figure in the emo rap and SoundCloud rap genres that garnered mainstream attention in the mid-2010s. His stage name was derived from the movie Juice (1992) and he stated that it represents “taking over the world.” .

Juice WRLD began his career as an independent artist in 2015 and signed a recording contract with Grade A Productions and Interscope Records in 2017. He gained recognition with his now-diamond certified 2018 single “Lucid Dreams” which peaked at number two. on the US Billboard Hot 100. It was listed on her triple-platinum debut studio album Goodbye & Good Riddance (2018), along with the singles “All Girls Are the Same”, “Lean wit Me”, “Wasted” and “Armed and Dangerous”. all of which charted on the Hot 100.

Juice WRLD later collaborated with Future on the Wrld on Drugs mixtape (2018) and released his second album, Death Race for Love, in 2019; it contained the hit single “Robbery” and became Higgins’ first number-one debut on the US Billboard 200.

Juice WRLD said that his musical influences spanned the entire genre, from emo music, hip hop, rock elements, punk, and R&B, with his biggest influences being rappers Travis Scott, Chief Keef, Kanye West, and British rock singer Billy idol

Billboard writer Michael Saponara stated, “If West and his meager 808 were a tree, another branch would have grown with flourishing art showcased by fellow Chicago native Juice WRLD in 2018.”

Juice WRLD was among the ranks of openly vulnerable artists born out of the emo rap scene inspired by West’s seminal fourth album, 808s & Heartbreak (2008). During an interview with All Def Music, the rapper said, “He was singing “Street Lights” like he had something to be sad about. kanye [West] he is a time traveler. That black went to shit around 2015 and came back with some gravy.”

His other influences included the Wu-Tang Clan, Quietdrive, Fall Out Boy, Black Sabbath, Starting Line, The Cranberries, City Drive, 2Pac, Eminem, XXXTentacion, Kid Cudi, and Escape the Fate. Juice WRLD had also stated that he listened to bands like Panic! at the disco and Killswitch Engage.

His most successful singles express emo-inspired melodic compositions that showcase his songwriting skills. Her songs harbor melodic flows to complement her melancholy themes. Juice WRLD claimed that she talked about things that others are thinking but are afraid to talk about, like being vulnerable and hurt.

Having gained a following through emo rap, Juice WRLD offered lyrics that touch on heartbreak and fragmented feelings. While not entirely groundbreaking, his musical approach provided a sense of familiarity that heartbroken teens of today’s generation might gravitate toward.

Higgins died after a drug overdose on December 8, 2019. Juice WRLD’s posthumous second album Fighting Demons was released in 2021 alongside the documentary film Juice Wrld: Into the Abyss, and contained the US Top 20 single “Already Dead”.
